明前茶 MingQian tea :refers to green tea produced before Pure Brightness (Apr.4,5 or 6);
雨前茶 Yu Qian tea: refers to green tea produced before Grain Rain (Apr.19,20 or 21)

Tea has been grown on and around Xi Shan for over 700 years with the first building of a monastery where the first nuns started cultivating their own tea trees. To this day there is still a 700 year plus old tea tree giving testimony to the fact.
Today with modern techniques available Xi Shan Tea is still harvest and made in the old traditional ways, from picking, which starts every morning at 5 am to gather in all the freshest and succulent new shoots to the 4 natural drying stages all done on the same day thereby keeping all the nutrients values and freshness in the leaves.
Xishan Tea (西山茶;Western Mountain Tea') have been exported to many countries and regions over the world.
